As just announced by Ofgem, the solar Feed-in-Tariff of 15.44 pence will remain available until July this year. That means there are two more months (May and June) to make use of this attractive Feed-in-Tariff rate for solar panels, especially since financial returns are currently at their highest level since the introduction of the FiT in 2010.
The following graph shows the current and expected future FiT rates for solar panels in the UK:
The reason for the extension by two months rather than three is to align the quarterly cuts with the actual quarters of the year. This used to be November, February, May and August, and will now be January, April, July and October – which makes things easier to understand indeed. Overall, great news for the UK residential solar industry to regain a healthy number of installations – enter your postcode now to see what you can earn.
